A lot can change in a week....Poll for Global today shows a 3 point spread which is within the margin of error . Going to be interesting but likely a Liberal minority. Then again , lol.

He has already said he will not be balancing the budget. And he might not put us in a 1/4 trillion dollar debt to do it....
Lol... As if he ever had any idea of trying to balance it.... But raising the debt to 250 billion which he calls an investment? Spend spend spend Mr. Trudeau...errrr.... I mean Carney. Our debt raises by 4.5 million PER Hour as it stands right now thanks to the past Liberal reign's spending on what??. Just hard to think that you people can't see their nose in front of their face and what that amount of debt means. We can't afford to pay the interest alone on it, and once Canada's credit rating slips some more, that interest rate will increase. I would like to see Carney's projections for his returns on his goliath "investment" spending, and when that return is suppose to take place. (can you say Trudeau ?)Yes... I know you think debt is a good thing but when you don't have a hope in hell of ever paying down that debt... ???.... How would you have liked to have a payment on your Vette for the rest of your life, knowing the interest alone will always be more than your payment. Oh well. You guys in Ontario are obviously voting Carney in for another Liberal fiasco. Lessons are never learned. I'm not a separatist but I can't say the same for others in Alberta (and now Saskatchewan). God forbid that ever happening but can you forecast the outcome for Canada if it loses it's major revenue source from these two provinces? I sincerely hope I am wrong but I guess we will see.He has already said he will not be balancing the budget.
God forbid. More like god save us.Lol... As if he ever had any idea of trying to balance it.... But raising the debt to 250 billion which he calls an investment? Thanks, I moved the posts.Nothing to do with this thread.
More appropriate in the Elections Canada thread
I obviously misunderstood your previous post wording....I never said debt was a good thing. I said it WAS a thing.
Obviously. Nowhere did I say it's a good thing. I implied it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. If one has a mortgage they have more than likely spent more money than they have. THAT is a deficit. Is it bad to have a mortgage? No. Is it a good thing? yes. Is it the best thing? Certainly not. When you need a second or third mortgage is that good? Most likely not. If you have 2 or 3 credit cards maxed out also then you're debt is a bad thing and could easily end in bankruptcy. A deficit budget is a tool. Neither good or bad. It all depends on how you use the tool.I obviously misunderstood your previous post wording....
" Running a deficit means more cash for government supported projects like dental care or universal health care. It also means more jobs. More jobs means more taxes into the coffers. I'm far from an economist, but simply yelling how bad running a deficit is, is just wrong. Look at some of the wealthiest people in the world. Their money is in constant motion. Done properly you actually are using more money than you actually have."
Just a minute now………Obviously. Now I'm done. I already voted and the outcome will have very little effect on my life. It may very easily have an effect on my values and what I perceive to be Canada's values.
I'm done with this thread. Not sure why it is here to begin with. One can't win political or religeous arguments. Best left alone.
Although not ideal for any number of idealistic reasons (after all the "lossing" party would want more seats) it has served us fairly well till now.Something has to be done about first past the post. Something seems not quite right when one party wins having gotten fewer votes than the other. And , it may well happen again this time. But of course we couldn’t expect the party who could have made the change and promised to do so when first elected to actually do it . Think about that before you cast your vote.
If by “ served us fairly well “ you mean the Liberal Party of Canada then you would be absolutely correct…..Although not ideal for any number of idealistic reasons (after all the "lossing" party would want more seats) it has served us fairly well till now.
If you take PP's riding, I believe there are some 90 names on the list. Correct me if i am mistaken. Now if the 89 "other" candidates were to garner 51% of the vote should PP be deprived of his seat? Would that be "more" just? Maybe the 89 could vote among themselves to see who should represent the riding
