It doesn't look that fast to me. Makes you wonder. I've driven at 240 before and signs go by a lot faster.
White lines looked like a picket fence , lol. You're gonna drive me to drinking....
But how could they make the displayed speed appear as something other than it actually was ? If you look down at the center line it gives a better impression of the speed . They are certainly hauling butt . Lucky there wasn't a deer on or crossing the road . Their population in that area , all of NS actually, is out of control.

In real life, is there a speedo governor at 299kph?
Not sure. I know the Camaro's had a top speed limiter. SLP had to have GM disable it so they could run a top speed lap.

Don't think in the C8 . There is a rev limiter . And an alarm you can set for a given speed. I have seen over 300kph on the speed readout in a C8 in a couple of YouTube videos though.

Here is one at 328 kph but it sure isn't stock ..... Hennessy had their hands on this one....

And here is one of the lesser power European export models on the Autobahn at 301kph . Appears to be stock. I believe GM claim 194 mph top speed which is 312kph . So ya they will easily do over 300 .

So it's a 26 or newer, no row of buttons....It's not Jack or Murray.

Probably someone with a 27 with the new motor testing GM's claim of 200 mph in a Stingray.

After reading some other stories about this it appears it could have been an orange ZO6.

How that was figured out I don't know, but a 26 or 27 orange ZO6 shouldn't be hard to find in the Maritimes.

Correct me if I'm wrong but can GM pull driving information off the cars ECU or whatever remotely or when you take it in for service? Or possibly OnStar which supposedly collects data whether you have subscribed or not.
Unfortunately yes . Think over the air updates for example. The connection is a two way street.

That video was just outside of Antigonish NS . Not sure if it was Cape Breton direction or the other direction.

So that being said, could the RCMP approach GM and ask them for information? There's likely not a lot of 26/27 Z06's in NS. Just wondering.
I will find out . I don't think so but you would probably have to read GM's 7,000 page privacy disclosure. And recent court decisions although those of course are based on rulings in Individual States Court decisions in the US . As usual regarding these things here in Canada we are sucking hind teat . And as far as I could see that was a Stingray..... either way it was too fast for a public highway even at night. Great headlights either way though.....
