Chinese EV's

They don't grow rice....... ;)
Don't want to turn this into a political debate but the deal is tide between granola/seafood for Chinese EV is my point. We can go back to the Trudeau days and the farmers and seafood farmers can kiss that market good bye. That's all I have to say on this topic. You can't always get what you want that only benefit you. Ask Trump. Time will tell. Aren't the US made cars get this tracking feature on some of the 2027 models from what I heard?

You mean something different than OnStar?
Lol. " free " for 3 years with some MY's for a reason. Data has become the most valuable commodity. We are the product. And now the Federal Liberal government has gotten in on the game with Bill C-22 . My calendar says 2026 but it sure seems like 1984 .

Is the Liberal party in power?
Maybe I'd pay attention, but I'm too old to care.
All the parties that have been the "leaders" when I payed attention, all do "stuff" that some folks like, and some folks dislike.......they're all the same.

With all the fear mongering about "invasive" automobiles....check out the Polestar EV sitting next to you at the stoplight. Also the Tesla beside you...and the BYD taxicab behind you. The real cold reality is that in the near future, most of the cars around you will be from Chinese manufacturers. WHY? Because of the lack of innovation, development, and research by your "Big Three", who have relied on protectionist legislation, rebates, and government subsidies. But that's all gone now. The Chinese have had their foot hard down on the throttle...developing efficient batteries, more powerful electric motors, and well styled and appointed vehicles with far more attractive pricing than the rest of the world. So therefore, with their auto empires now in jeopardy, the "Big 3" are scrambling to play catch-up. The BS about "eavesdropping electronics" is pure nonsense, considering all those who have "Alexa" sitting on a counter in your living room. Try punching in a query about something in particular on your laptop...the next day your screen is filled with related topics. The Chinese are poised to decimate the North American auto industry, and they know it. Already, GM, Ford, and Stellantis are making backroom deals to re-badge some models or assemble Chinese cars in Canada and the US.
Notice how all the EV manufacturers started off producing high end, high dollar vehicles, the angle was to try to recoup the expense of new production and development quickly. But no-one jumped on these overpriced relics, choosing to wait for the more affordable versions. Numerous companies fell by the wayside because of this. Now the Chinese have capitalized on this....and the markets are ripe!
