Finally some actual youtube content! These cars were made in Detroit
yeah, this is one of the 500 cars they built on the production line starting back in August to "test" the line. These are technically "pre-production" but really just the first 500 off the line, with the normal production starting next Monday.

Lol, lost another good one...
I was a tool and die maker in Oshawa for 41 years. When an all new model was coming out. The body shop would be set up and then they would build perhaps a dozen pre-production cars. As each body was built, the stations in the body shop would be tweaked so that all the parts were fine tuned in their fit with each other so that a good unit was built. Each body would be put on a surface plate in the tool room and checked for build accuracy with each part where it is supposed to be. When engineering approved the accuracy of the build, then production began. Those first dozen or so cars used to be given to high schools for their auto mechanics classes to use or they were scrapped. None were sold to the general public, obviously for liability reasons and none had any VIN tags.
On a few videos the top engineer said they would crush them. They changed their mind?
I wouldn't want to drive a car that's not dialed in yet unless I was a wealthy collector and having it sit in a showroom and could afford the miss prints. I do have a music band collection and miss prints are one of my most prized possessions.

I'm acquainted with a boos at Roush. One day I met up with him, and he was driving a CAMARO with the full Roush treatment - body, supercharger, exhaust, the FULL treatment. Naturally I freaked out. I asked him how Chevy signed off on that and he said they didnt. I asked why they made it, and he said they wanted to collect the data. i asked what they're going to do with it once they're done studying it, and he said they will crush it. Along with my feelings, lol.....
