Hello CCF Nation,
I plan to install Kooks long tube headers with high flow green cats and midpipe on my C7 GS. I've been hearing potential heat issues that may damage torque tube components. Would like to proactively manage heat before installation.
- is there a consensus on what quality coating works on these hot headers? I've heard Cerakote and Jet Hot coatings mentioned.
- do I need to replace OEM heat shielding ? is there an upgrade to the existing heat shielding I can apply during installation?
- Can you share reputable shops/products that can apply the coating in southern Ontario?
Feel free to share any experiences with coating headers and managing heat !
Thank you,
