Word(s) of caution.
I took mine to the local dealership, they put it on for the amazing low price of $800 ...
On the way home I got to thinking "This is the WORST $7500 I have ever spent. This thing sounds like absolute A$$. Like embarrassing ..."
After some research & sending sounds clips to Borla, they determined that I had an exhaust leak (A bad one).
Turns out the dealership did not replace the 2 gaskets (MAKE SURE TO DO THIS NO MATTER WHO INSTALLS IT), and they also in addition didnt put it on very tight, to torque specs. How do I know this, I ended up taking the entire thing off myself. No way I was going back to the dealership. So checking the torques, they did not use a torque wrench as the studs were ALL off. There was also a cracked gasket that they reused.
When I confronted the dealer with all my findings (and there were some other head scratching things they did) .. they stated that it was the first exhaust the tech had done on a C8 .... OBVIOUSLY !!!! While I dont mind people learning ... Geesuz .. and NO, I did not get a cent back form this experience.
Once I removed it, replaced the gaskets, re-installed it and all to torque specs ... It now sounds like a Symphony of V8 sounds that makes me droool everytime I start the car.
Moral of the story, BE CAREFUL. Ask the dealer (or shop) how many they have done .... While it is not rocket science, it is finicky and MUST be done methodically to seat the gaskets just right. Tourque ABSOLUTELY matters. Do some reading and you will find that it is common to have to take your time to get it all just right,. Little room for error unlike installing a Thrush on a 84 Mustang.
