C8 is coming up for its first oil change. Does anyone recommend a Calgary dealership that treats your car with some care when servicing and also has competent techs that are familiar with C8's?

I expect you'll get more knowledgeable replies however I purchased my 2020 C8 from Capital Chev (Calgary) and they had the most C8 allocations compared to other dealerships I dealt with in Calgary and Edmonton. I was ++ happy with my salesperson. I'm in Edmonton so didn't get them to service my C8. Back then, I was told their goal was to become known as a dealership that focused on high performance GM vehicles. Given their C8 sales volume, they should have some experienced and good techs. If you don't get first-hand info from anyone else, I'd suggest calling their service manager and asking who he/she has for trained Corvette techs and how long they've been with him. I checked their Google reviews, which average 4.5/5 stars after over 1,000 reviews, with the usual complainers that everyone seems to get but it's nice to see Capital responds to all reviews. I note one disgruntled reviewer mentioned that Jack Carter in Calgary "specialized in Corvettes" and that dealership has a similar 4.5/5 rating but over 2,000 reviews. So perhaps Jack Carter??? Good luck!

My best dealership for servicing experiences with our Corvettes … is honestly in Edmonton. i live in YYC.
Only service at a Dealer that can sell new Corvettes … they need to have trained techs and the tools in order to sell them.
In Calgary, I will do “bring my own oil” at Jack Carter or Shaganappi only. A newer and real nice Corvette Dealership is in Cochrane (associated with Shag) and I have yet to try them out. I will not personally service any of my GM vehicles at Capital or Shaw/CMP/Okotoks period (except for a Hummer at Shaw). Not sure who runs GSL anymore so they are out too. I will service in High River … but they don’t do Corvettes. The Owner of High River has a Corvette and I have seen them servicing it at Jack Carter. JMO as Sales & Service are always 2 different things to me.

I'm not sure I would use Capital for any service. I know a fellow who took delivery this summer of his C8 and had a leak with one driveshaft being few days old. Capital exchanged a seal and car still leaked. Capital couldn't figure out issue and complete transmission was replaced and car now rattles on start up and they can't figure rattle out. At least leak is fixed.

I can vouch for a fella at Capital Chevrolet who actually took the time to answer my questions with regards to allocations, wait time, etc. Most other dealers didn’t have a clue and just wanted my deposit, and then another one when I could build my car in 2035.

With the way things are going, I can pick up a 2 or 3LT Z car for $110,000. I’m going to wait a little longer and see if that gets to the $100,000 mark. It will still be over MSRP but at least I’ll have the car instead of waiting for what feels like an eternity.
