C8 Z06 drive by.

I was out in the yard and a red Z06 drove by. Sounded stock and I think I prefer the sound of the Stingray NPP better. It sounded, I dunno, kinda whiney.

It is easy to confuse the 2. Don't be ashamed that your car sounds like a lawn mower. We can't all drive Cross plane crank motors.

I get the Z06 sound...its a novelty for sure.

I know I haven't been able to capture the sound of my new Borla exhaust well in a clip or you all (I maintain is awesome), but I had 2 x 2024 Z06 owners in the last week (at 2 different shows) tell me they loved the sound of my car ...

The Z06 sounds buzzy at lower rpm. If you leave it in auto mode and aren't aggressive it will not sound good even if the exhaust is in track mode. Its not a good sound until you hit 3500-3750rpm.

Many people never set their My Mode's and just leave the car in Tour.

However the Stingrays with stock NPP are whisper quiet unless you floor it or you cold start it.

So I guess buzzy noise vs no noise? I don't know which is worse. If that Z06 actually opened it up or held first gear it would sound fantastic and the Stingray would sound fine.
