Dear All. New 2025 1LT coupe owner. Love it! Want to winter drive in Southern Ontario. Need winter wheel and tire advice. Will any standard C8 rim fit on my car (including those from 2020-2024) or did any of the wheel specs change? There are people selling stock rims from 2020-2025 C8s and I don't want to buy them and find out they don't fit due to some change in the offset/bore/brake clearance. How about winter tires? I am thinking about Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 from Blackcircle.com. Best price by far. But have others had issues with them? I am especially concerned about getting old stock tires. Thanks.

Welcome!
Do you have A/S tires? I drive all year round when the weather permits. I.E. no snow on the roads, with the A/S tires.
If you plan on driving 365 days a year you'll want to ask @Jack Raccoon! for advice as he puts snows on his every November.

Dear Murray

Yep. Year round is the plan. Realise there will be a few days every winter that will have to stay off roads but that makes more sense to drive it year round. Hear the A/Sx are actually pretty good but really want to maximise usability.

Put out a DM to @JackRaccoon and look forward to his guidance.

Main question is whether stock rims from 2020-2022 will work on my 2025 1LT coupe and how hard is it to get/put TPMS sensors back on if they have been removed.

Thanks.

I bought a used set of base wheels in perfect condition for something like $600 and mounted Michelin Pilot PA4s which I bought from a local tire shop. Works very well. Way, way more traction in the winter than the PS4s (PS4s are outright dangerous when cold+wet).

Driving your 2025 or any vet for that matter in the winter???

😳

Me, not a chance. Had C6, C7, now C8
Never did these see winter/snow let alone rain….only time my vets saw water was when I hand wash and dry/detail in my driveway!!!

Dear CamsC8

Reassuring. Thank you. Winterdriving it makes sense to me.

Best.
It’s not necessarily how your C8 handles the winter driving it’s the people on the roads that shouldn’t even be on them in the summer…..JMHO

Regarding TPMS. Get genuine GM TPMS for your new set of wheels. When you switch wheels hit the TPMS reset/relearn button in the menu list after the wheels have been changed and very important - only after the car has been sitting for 20 minutes. If you try to relearn before the 20 minutes the reset does not work but let the car sit for 20 minutes again and it will be fine. It takes a bit of driving 10-20 minutes after the relearn for the new pressures to appear. Do this every time you change wheels or when you rotate tires.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I believe the manufacturers of the GM TPMS are Schrader Electronics, VDO and TRW. Some of which you can get at C.T.

Wow. Thank you for that. You have probably saved me a lot of trouble.

Got my PA4s from Blackcircle.ca yesterday. Fronts were manufactured Spring 2025 but rears were well over three years old. Am working on returning those and getting replacements. I will let everyone know how that goes.
