Looking at the afe intake.
More interested in the sound. I couldn't hear much of a whine out of my ZL1 so was looking at putting a cold air on this one if the sound difference is noticeable.
So my question is.... Is there an obvious difference in sound with the supercharger whine with a cold air intake for users out there.
Thanks

No. The sound you hear from the blower is not coming through the exhaust . You are hearing the internal rotating parts ........ in free air so to speak . That's not to say that the less restrictive CAI won't change the exhaust note somewhat .....

Yes the whine from the blower comes from the engine. I'm wondering who has used a cai and noticed a significant increase with the whine under the hood.

I never found CAIs increased blower whine. The intake position makes it so any sound that could be heard from inside the car is pointed away. The supercharger design also inherently makes less whine then say a Hellcat, thats just the reality.

The options I found that worked a little bit was to remove the weather stripping, it helps a bit. If you want more you will need to swap the supercharger lid. I bought an NX Lid last year to get more whine and it worked, I can actually hear whine at around 1800 rpm but at 3k it starts to get drowned out by the exhaust but I also have a Borla.

Anything more you are looking into expensive mods but on a budget I'd say weather stripping and a lid will get you an acceptable amount of whine.

Still won't sound like a Hellcat though.
