C7 manual door opening pull

New to me C7 and full of questions. I see an emergency manual door pull when I open my rear hatch, up on the LH inner quarter. I assume if your battery goes dead and you can't open the drivers door, then you resort to this. Question: If the battery is dead how do you open the rear hatch to get at this pull?

Remove the key from the FOB, insert it in the lock mechanism at the rear of the car, under and to the right of the "Corvette" emblem, turn the key and the hatch will open. Full instructions are in the Owner's Manual and this video.
