I don't know the answer but I tend to avoid petroleum products on my lights, paint, and pretty much all of my car unless I'm lubricating a hinge. Most of the products I use indicate what not to use them on.Can C7 headlights be damaged by detailing products that contain petroleum distillates? Correct. Most all products contain some degree of petroleum derived ingredients and car care products are no exception. I have been using Mequiars Ultimate liquid wax as my base and Lucas Slick Mist speed wax as my detailer for 10 years now without a problem. I don't use the ultimate on my headlight lenses but the Slick Mist indicates it's safe to use on glass, plastics, whatever.Thanks. The crazy thing is that petroleum distillates can be in carnuba wax and things like that and ingredients not always spelled out.
