So I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what they did to fix it. My temperature is going from let's say for conversation 183° to to 196 back to 185 and up to 190 , constantly moving around. I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this before and what was done to remedy thé

Hi and welcome to the forum . Is this occurring while driving at a constant speed like you would on the highway ? Or is it happening while in traffic in an urban area , starting and stopping fairly frequently ?

This is occurring while driving and while sitting at a red light , it's just all over the place. The only thing I can think of is the thermal temperature sensor has broken, but I'm hoping to get a confirmation from someone else who had the same thing happening

Ok . I dug this up . Here is a link to the page which has several follow up questions to ask. When you get to the site just close the popup asking you to sign in .https://www.perplexity.ai/search/fc76c6b2-57f5-4377-9417-6f47947262eb. I hope this is helpful. I’m going to guess either the sending unit or thermostat.

Engine temperature fluctuations in a 2007 Corvette can be caused by several factors, including issues with the cooling system, electronic sensors, airflow, or even head gasket problems.
Key causes include:
• Low coolant level or air in the cooling system: Insufficient coolant or trapped air prevents proper heat transfer, resulting in rapid temperature swings.
• Faulty thermostat: If the thermostat sticks open or closed, coolant flow is disrupted, leading to erratic temperature readings.
• Bad coolant temperature sensor: A malfunctioning sensor can send incorrect signals to the engine control unit (ECU), causing false or unstable readings on the gauge.
• Failing water pump: If the pump cannot circulate coolant efficiently, engine temperatures will fluctuate.
• Obstructions in radiator or condenser: Blockages can restrict airflow, especially at low speeds or idle, causing temperature spikes.
• Electric fan issues: Problems with fan operation or electrical circuits can impair proper cooling at low speeds.
• Blown head gasket or cracked head: In rare cases, combustion gases entering the cooling system can lead to rapid and unusual temperature changes, even without coolant loss or creamy oil.
