Condition condition condition. It's easy to make them shine on the surface. Especially with new paint. 80k is not out of sight but I would have a thorough mechanical inspection done before even considering. How many miles showing?

Have a C2 expert check that car out.
64's are a bit of an orphan because in 65 they put 4 wheel disc brakes in....which is more desirable.
This car has drums all around.
2 very important things to have checked.
The bird cage and the frame....especially at the area where the rear trailing arms are attached.
Good luck..

Umpy is right, the frame where it bumps up over the rear wheels is the mid year Vettes Achilles Heel.
1964 is the least desireable of the mid year cars, 1963 had the split window, '65 disc brakes and a 396,
and of course '66 and '67 with the 427.
Having said that an appraisal is a must. I have a local guy that charges $300 and it is well worth it,
If you Google I'm sure you can find a local one too.

Spend as much money as you need to for a good appraisal.
If you have a local NCRS club. There might be a contact you can work with there.
As mentioned the frame issues....
The bird cage is also most important . Make sure the person inspecting this car is keenly aware of this with a C2
Bird cage repairs can be very expensive
If the frame is bad. The body could be pulled for frame repair if needed.
There are some great videos on You tube.
Watch a bunch of back episodes for " Mid year Mitch" he is very bright.
Not having any paper work is also concerning...you have no proof of the life of the car.

Are you going the NCRS route or just going to drive and enjoy it?
Was the colour changed from what the trim tag colour? Expensive if you want to repaint it to the trim tag.
Look at the Hagerty guide for pricing, Corvette magazine publishes a price guide for C1, C2, etc, from time to time. Bring a trailer also has a graph showing prices by year.
Are you able to go through the car to confirm that all the numbers match, or have someone that can help you?

Cheers, John

I would look up the spec on it's engine. 64 Corvette had several 327 choices from the base 250 HP right up to the L76 327 with 365 HP. The Ramjet fuel injection 327 produced 375 HP. Only 50 HP less than the 65 396 engine.
You short changed it by 29 HP I think........ ;)
