Hey Brian ...

Hope that "yellow vette road" doesn't lead down Hwy 6 .... You might find out that a corvette really does melt ! ! :D

Stefanis.

I agree with you about black paint on shiny surfaces, like the rest of the car. It is easier to keep a white car clean than a black car--IMO anyways, for what it's worth.

The little black area at the back on mine stays pretty clean looking as it is a matte black, and not meant to be a shiny/polished part of the car. I never seem to need to do much to that part when washing my car.

I also don't worry about exhaust smoke discolouring the black surface as much as if it were white as well.

Wayne, the carbon fibre would be really cool, and surely would constitute a great personal touch!

Wayne.. I found thus faux carbon fibre process on-line..
This might be worth a try.
.Create Carbon Fiber Look with Plasti Dip - YouTube

a few cans of paint and you're done.
I don't know that you must use the specific paint shown in the video or if other paint may work?? I want to try this myself.

Got a 12" x 12" sheet of 3M's carbon fiber DI-NOC vinyl. Put it on the down tube for the projector in the HT room. I had painted it black but this looks a lot better.

Might use the left over material on the light switches on the "dark accent wall"

On phone so can't post a pic. Will do it later if anyone is interested.....

12"x12" sheet of DI-NOC with the long down tube and the short one that came with the projector.

The "sensitive" side of me thought that the wife wouldn't like a rusted tube hanging from the ceiling so I painted it. Still didn't do anything for me so I bought the DI-NOC off eBay.

Looks a million times better, just might try this on the back of the 'vette next spring.

the DI-NOC, not the down tube....

I bought a large pc of the 3m Di-Noc last year to do my console.
Didn't like the way it turned out so I removed it. But have done lots of other parts. The 3M stuff is Great.

Had lots left over so I did mt TV Stand, a Lamp and a few other basement items.

I think it will look great on the rear defuser area.:canada:
