Bit of Tunnel Fun in the Angeles Mountains, LA

We are at 4300 miles so....just under 7K. Only some odd things so far that I am hoping are curable. The wife bought gifts and the plastic from the bags melted to the plastic of the trunk below the glass.... I don't know if it actually smoothed out and melted that plastic or just left some of the bag plastic there but you can see shiny areas where the bags got hot against the truck lid plastic...surprised us... Thoughts? Anyone encountered this? As well, I am so glad I got the complete XPEL....especially since, when removing the top, I bumped it against an overhead pipe yesterday...marking the XPEL plastic. There are visible marks on the cars front that I would not want there without the XPEL though. They appear and disappear shortly after when the car is washed and sun heats the plastic...self healing definitely.

This is all part and parcel to such a trip though...

Holy crap who knew? There really is light at the end of the tunnel. :Confused5:

Les is the car broken in yet.

Travel safe guys.

I ride motorcycles, I get really nervous when People cross a double yellow solid line, especially when the visibility is compromised.

Never done autocross but today i got to experience the California 1 along the Pacific Coast which is an experience I will never forget...or want to repeat. It runs along the cliffs and shoreline of the Pacific Coast and I swear there is no exit once you are on for over 100 miles....thats 100 miles of twisties which get very irritating after the first few hours...especially since most of our travel there was at night. Got video! Will post it in the morning! I am curious to see how the PDR wprks at night.

Too bad you did it at night Les, the same trip for me 15 years ago during daylight was probably the most memorable drive I can think of, stunning scenery.

Stay safe and enjoy the remaining clicks.

Matt

I have done the canyon roads in the Malibu area with my blue Z06... that was fun. Yes, PCH is an awesome drive..... yes, by day is better

I did know the autocross was Sunday... the customer wanted the car sat night.. :( I would have never raced it.

Make sure once you go across the Oregon border you are driving daytime...... the south part has nice views too.
