I researched the best tire inflator because I wanted something reliable and easy to use for keeping proper tire pressure, especially since going to the gas station every time is inconvenient — and having correct tire pressure is important for safety and fuel efficiency.

I went through reviews from trusted sources like Amazon customer reviews, Popular Mechanics, and The Spruce (and other gear review sites), and after comparing many options these two kept coming up as the top choices:

  • Viair 400P-RV Portable Tire Inflator — Automatic High-Pressure Air Compressor for RVs, Trucks & Large Tires (12V, Up to 150 PSI)
  • Milwaukee M18 2848-20 Cordless Tire Inflator — 18 V Portable Inflator with TrueFill™ Automatic Pressure Check & Auto Shut-Off
however, i am having trouble deciding which one would be better for me and i would love to get your expert advice and hoping maybe some car owners or people who regularly maintain tire pressure on vehicles and trucks on this forum can also share their advice.
I usually need something compact enough to keep in the trunk, strong/reliable for both car and light truck tires, and easy to use — ideally something that doesn’t take forever to inflate and won’t be a hassle in bad weather or evenings. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Hi have the Viair 85P , it is a solid piece of equipment, is compact and comes in a nice canvas bag. I carry it on my SXS in the desert but will probably get another one for my truck. It filled a 10 x 32 inch Offroad tire from 0 psi to 12 psi in under two minutes.

So this is not an ad. Just experience. My tires were low due to cold, and at varying pressures so I inflated them with my handy dandy "Air Hawk" as seen on tv tire inflator, set to 30lbs. Took about a minute/tire and when I checked the TPMS, every tire was exactly 30lbs. Just sayin'.

I have been using the DeWalt DCC020I Air Inflator for the past couple of years. It needs a 20v Lithium Ion battery but you can buy a pair of these batteries with a charger on Amazon for a reasonable price. The Air Inflator has been a solid investment as I use it at least once a month

Actually I purchased one of these . Yet to find out if it works thankfully. Can either inflate with just air or with foam sealant. Supposedly good for an 1/8 puncture. And they claim the tire can still be repaired after using the foam .

After your advice I search it on amazon.com and this Amazon.com (https://www.amazon.com/ResQ-71-063-021-Tire-Repair-Compressor/dp/B00BJ2TBL2) one I searched. This is the same as you mentioned? @1st Vette
