Yep finally someone put out a myth-busting video on the practice commonly referred to as 'Pick steering or headers' or header clearancing. Refreshing to see that no amount of header bashing caused ANY loss in power on a back to back engine dyno.

If that doesn't cause power loss, then the headers are too large for the engine size/exhaust requirements. Basically, those primaries are too big for the SBC, and a smaller size would yield higher horsepower as they would scavenge better. There is a good discussion on LS1tech on this issue.
Agreed. If you can pinch down the header and it doesn't degrade the performance, it must be too big. However, nice to know a dent won't kill the engine.
You will find that most cars on the street have headers that are too big for the application. Have to look macho though.
a dyno result and a drag strip result are two different things.
