Anyone local with Borla S-Type exhaust?

I doubt you can transfer OEM heat shield. I would think some shielding is necessary unless you want melted bumper
No, not transfering the oem heat shield. I meant a simlar heat shield to the oem from the Borlas.
There are plenty of aftermarket systems without heat shield including my Hooker. Having said that, I would still prefer some sort of shielding.

Been doing a fair bit of research on this during the last hour or so and from everything I can find it doesn't appear to be an issue. General consensus from several sources say the oem shielding in the areas around the exhaust are more than adequate. Temperature sensors placed in a variety of locations back there showed exactly the same temperatures with both stock and aftermarket exhausts. Not going to worry about it.

Heat shielding is to keep the trunk cooler.

I carry my ice-cream in the frunk......... ;) pizza in the trunk.
Just saying. A lot of people with aftermarket exhaust complain about the heat in the trunk. As far as I can see that is the main reason GM put the heat shielding there and perhaps to keep the engine bay a little cooler. Not to mention scavenging.

I suspect that those new fangled air deflectors that are now available would eliminate the majority of that . At least while in motion. Apparently temperatures are identical with aftermarket or stock exhaust with or without extra heat shielding. And that is from a company that actually sells heat shields for aftermarket exhaust. They claim they are mainly for appearance.

I only hear that from others experience. Not mine. They must do something. Heat rises as we all know.

$145 cad option with the Corsa but free installation. That is for the area behind the exhaust tips . Is that the heat shielding you are referring to ?
Hey Mr 1st V ... considering a corsa ? Nice ... Im guessing you wanna piss off the neighbors ? ;)

Anyway ... are you worried about the dreaded CEL ...is that still a thing with the aftermarket exhausts ?

Your are right but I can tell you my first oem Turo rental C8 Coupe were very toasty as well. I have added some thermo mat to combat this issue to my C8. The best effective way for us HTC is to remove the weather stripping and leave it in the trunk. It has that same effect as cracking your window open a little.

Funny, the trunk in my coupe never gets very hot.

My trip from Vancouver to Whistler gotten very hot. Maybe heat soak from sitting while going through check-in at the hotel?
We drive an hour to my cousins with stuff in the trunk. Never gets too hot. Warm, sure, but not too hot

The one thing I find lacking in the Stingray even with the performance exhaust which I have is more exhaust note . GM is limited as to how many decibels they can produce by various State laws I believe and have to meet the lowest one to be in compliance. I'm getting the Corsa Extreme cat back installed by Davenport and they can reprogram/relearn the ECM so no CEL . As for the neighbors you can always start up with the valves closed. But where's the fun in that , lol.

Thats great !

Wish you tons of luck with it .... The icing on the cake is those round exhaust tips ... Nice choice

The Corsa is one of the best exhausts out there .... however I'd take the one pictured ..... ;)

I'll never understand the logic of round tips. Everything on the ass of the C8 is square with sharp edges and you stick round pipes on it! It just looks off to me. The Z06 should look like this! :) One MF exhaust port!

Lamborghini has been doing that for quite awhile.
