I’m sure a joint account with equal share contribution can be set up to take care of consumables and maintenance. Nevertheless, it was just a light hearted comment. Not really looking for fractional ownership.

As of 2026, Canada’s counter-tariffs on U.S.-made vehicles that do not comply with the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA)—which includes specific high-performance models like the C8 Corvette—is set at 25% of the vehicle's value for duty.
This surtax was enacted in April 2025 as a direct retaliatory measure against U.S. tariffs. Because the C8 Corvette typically fails to meet the strict "Regional Value Content" (RVC) requirements (which require 75% of the vehicle's value to originate in North America), it is largely treated as a non-compliant good.

Ya, I thought so. I wasn't sure, but they stopped that after Trump threatened added % or something.
Get ready for it, CUSMA will be gone this year given the current situation ....

Yes, and it will become CMA next. Trump last week introduced a 75% Tariff on all USED vehicles imported into the USA that are not made in the United States and a 8% tariff if they are built in the USA and imported back from Canada or Mexico.
Currently GM has been given a "quota or limit" on the amount of cars coming into Canada tariff free and that is what has happened with Corvette since last April as none of the C8 models meet the 75% parts threshold.
I haven't posted these tariff figures as I don't want to alarm people about this who are buying new cars until it's actually going to happen.
