Well, here is a photo of one of these rare locomotives. This 3-tank compressed air locomotive was built in 1910 by Porter for the United States Navy for use in their Bay Areas shipyards. Her Porter builder's plate is quite evident on the side of the lower tank.
We see her here in 1936 at what looks like the end of her days of service. Note her exhaust stack mounted on the front pilot between the cylinders and the 2 sand domes on top of the tanks.
