again, there is no difference in 2023 and 2024 rating, and Canadian Green Levy is calculated "a little bit differently" that's why there is a "master list" of cars and what the green levy for them is.

It's all a moot point until all information is updated and current, and we can compare apples-to-apples. And then only when, or if, the dealers start charging (or get audited), and/or the excise tax shows on the window sticker (like in the US showing the gas guzzler tax).

I was able to get a question through to Pierre Poilievre through a friend of mine when the luxury tax started last fall, and the answer came back they would have to "study it" if they got in. Once they study it, my fear is they will see how much revenue it has been generating and be very resistant to remove it. I don't think making an issue about it during the campaign will do them much good. All we can do is hope as I haven't heard of a group lobbying on behalf of us.

Nobody lobbies for what is probably the one percent of the population that can make a purchase of that size . Although we can only hope that they will address some the other inefficient taxation issues that have cropped up in the last several years that unfairly impact those that can least afford it.

It would be truly interesting to see what the 1% (?) have paid out in luxury tax on boats ( over 250k ) , planes , and cars over 100k since the introduction. My guess is it might be a moot point in so much as it's more of a sting then an issue.

You do qualify to be exempt with a date stamped deposit prior to August 31st 2021, an original bill of sale with an order number and your final bill of sale.
