I can see where some of these features could be useful. For 2024 and later owners. Quick Share does work well. I transferred all of the data from my old phone to my new Samsung without a hitch.

The C8 Corvette, starting with the 2024 model year, uses Android Automotive OS for its infotainment system instead of the previous GM architecture. This means the car has a native Android Automotive operating system built into the head unit, which includes onboard Google apps like Google Maps and Google Assistant.
This is different from Android Auto, which is an app that runs on your smartphone and projects onto the car’s display. The C8 supports both Android Automotive (native OS) and Android Auto (phone projection), but the 2024+ models have Android Automotive as the main system.
In summary, yes—the C8 Corvette uses Android Automotive OS in its infotainment system starting with the 2024 model year.

Interesting! Thanks for this. I have a 2025 2LT and my Android Auto (AA) is grayed out and cannot connect to WIFI hotspot or internet. Brought it to the dealer twice and although these 2 issues were resolved, the next day AA grayed out and the car's system cannot connect. Maybe this is the reason

Your vehicle comes with 8 years of basic OnStar and three years of the full service “ included “ . Of course we are paying for that in the purchase price. I would suggest either calling OnStar or pushing the blue button above the rear view mirror and seeing what they can do for you. I have a few times and they are very accommodating. Also check the pertinent sections of the owners manual. I took a look and also found this. I hope it helps.

Thanks for your message. Of course, i have contacted GM, Onstar and consulted the manual.....in addition to bringing it to the dealer twice. In November 2024, I spent over 20 hours with Onstar trouble shooting this issue. Im also fully aware of GM/onstar warranty. Although, I agree with you that they are accommodating, they did not and have not yet resolve the issue!!!. There is no issue with my phone or other devices i try to connect with the 2025 C8 as they connect very well with other WIFIs (home/office...), cars (2018, 2023, 2024 models) and devices.

I suspected that you probably had done all of that but it doesn’t hurt to mention it anyway as there are those that aren’t aware of all the options. It may well be a software issue that hopefully GM is working on and will roll out an update for eventually. I had several problems with the My Chevrolet app and after basically denying a problem on their end I finally talked to yet another rep at OnStar that admitted it was something they were aware of for quite some time. This went on for about 5 months and once it was finally resolved they agreed to extend my OnStar by five months to make up for it but I had to be persistent. You shouldn’t have to, they should offer to make it right. I hope you get it sorted soon. Good luck with it .
 
Thank you. You are right....it does depend on the agent. Onstar has already agreed to extend the on star warranty for 8 months (the time period I've owned the car thus far) and they will be looking in to additional compensation for the time i spent with them to try to get this issue resolved. I'll keep on trying and keep this Forum updated.
 
Hello all, just wanted to chip in with one point. I ran into an issue with my 2025 Blazer where you couldn't enable the onboard WiFi, and subsequently the cars navigation wouldn't work. Onstar was no help. It took about a week to resolve itself, but I believe it's related to the car having to "register" itself with the cellphone internet provider. I've seen a few Forum posts about the car mysteriously solving this issue itself after a week or two.
 
Thanks for your input. Much appreciated.! However, this connectivity issue has been ongoing for 8 mos (since it got the car). Ive had the same cel provider and i can connect to other cars' Android Auto and WIFI without any problems. I'll reach out to my cel provider. Thanks again

That was probably it as the wifi is dependent on the 4G LTE module in the car which requires OnStar as far as I know. Which of course means that if we don’t start paying for it when the three years is up that the only way to get OTA’s will be by connecting to your home wifi or someone else’s or going to a dealer. Which I guess isn’t that big of a deal but somewhat less convenient. Once it’s working though it seems to work well. I have yet to use any of the Google features directly at all so far. The few times I have used navigation it’s been OnStar .

To verify that your 2025 C8 Corvette is connected to the cellular network, you can:
• Check the infotainment system’s settings menu for vehicle software update options. If the “Vehicle Software > Updates” or “Software Information > System Update” options are available and not grayed out, it generally indicates the vehicle has cellular connectivity needed for updates.
• If you see messages about download or connection errors, it may indicate limited cellular connectivity. Moving the vehicle to an area with better signal usually resolves this.
• You can also use the myChevrolet app to view your vehicle’s connectivity status and manage your Wi-Fi hotspot data plan, which implies cellular connection is active.

Oh. Yes. I had the Note 10 plus originally and now changed to the S24 ultra. I also tried with the S21. I don't think it's a device issue but a car issue. Most likely hardware not software. It's frustrating that the dealer failed twice. I may have to try a different dealer. This is a great forum. I appreciate your comments. Thank you

I also have the s24 ultra and it connected first time , now when I get in the car it connects automatically without even turning it on so just tap the volume button on the wheel and it starts playing Prime Music . You must be pretty annoyed by now to say the least. I hope it works out for you soon.

No problem at all. I figured it may not be related, but it was a case where I sat in a parking lot for two hours while Onstar tried three different tech support people who couldn't figure out the issue. The Onstar worked, but the onboard WiFi didn't

I hope everything works out in the end, technology sure is frustrating when it doesn't work.

Why ? It should just work. That would be an expensive fix, if it worked , at the customer’s expense when it certainly appears to be a GM problem. Android works a treat when it does work….. :rolleyes:
