A Sucker Punch From Your Neighbour/Friend? (US/Canada Trade War)

Murray, my man....we can't cut off his oil without being willing to walk (or else be willing to buy an electric vehicle) since the pipeline that supplies most of Ontario runs through Trumpland before cutting back to the Sarnia refineries. No more 'Vettes lessin' you got an E-Ray.
OH. LOL
OK, then can we cut off his dick?

Build it and they will come ? Investors that is....

Reading the linked article through, I see that the Head Dipper, Avi Lewis, is advocating instead for public transit, collective safety, and all the usual "stuff". Wonder if he knows that (a) all such alternative efforts are paid for by the citizenry, not private industry in any way shape or form (b) the feel-good projects he advocates for can't be exported, don't generate income, nor jobs after any initial construction is completed. And they generally get run after completion of the project at a significant loss, unlike pipelines and exported energy.

But that's just my cynicism setting in.

NDP . Say no more ...... if they were your drinking buddies they would be the type that would order a round and then go to the washroom until after the drinks were delivered , lol.

🇨🇦 We have to get this done asap.
Pipe line is going to the West Coast I heard today.

Now in the National interest ...... what could possibly go wrong. It does appear , so far at least , that taxpayers will be footing the majority of the cost . Hmmm.

It will be interesting to say the least. Personally, I have no issue with taxpayers footing the cost. Our provincial and federal governments have pissed away taxpayers dollars for more years than most of us have been alive and what tools did that provide for us to have some measure of independence from the US. It was just too easy, for too many years, to ride a gravy train and maintain a status quo.
All it took was the orange turd for us to realize we should have been planning for this day long ago and if we had diversified, built more pipelines, nuclear power, and whatever else, the only reason we would have for this entire thread would be to comfortably go about our business and laugh at the southern idiots and what they are doing to themselves. Instead we are fretting about what they are doing to us. We have all the ingredients to have strong energy, agriculture, mining, manufacturing and export. We just need to build the tools. There is a reason Norway realizes a huge surplus every year. That could easily have been Canada, and still can be. If we build it they will come....and we can fuc king choose who we want to play ball with. JMHO.

Time is the luxury that we don't have. Waiting for 100% private investment may take years. We will have to navigate through this as best as we can. We can expect some miscalculations along the journey but we can only hope those would be minor.
One good thing is that what we sell is what the world need.
The least we can do is have all Canadians rally behind the idea, understand and support this for the long run. We have to elect experience leaders at their field to navigate through this. Not to elect an ignorant idiot like the current one in the US to run our country.
I think is save to say this will benefit the next generations, those that are starting out their adulthood than most of us retirees and soon to be retirees? 🇨🇦

Nothing like some good old fashioned religious fundamentalism to rally the troops . And with this nutbar it seems to be more like religious extremism... so much for the separation of church and state.

Arguably related to this thread . A majority of UCP supporters are in favor of separating. How much of this is dissatisfaction with Ottawa and how much is because of behind the scenes , or direct US influence? Still overall only a small minority are in favor thankfully.

There is no reasoning with a cult. No matter what you do they will find an excuse to justify their cause imo.
We just hope there aren't more like minded peoples like them.
