The problem (and it's a significant one) is that you gotta know that Vance would be the step-in for the Orange Child, and all of the azzkissers around the current Thief/Liar-in-Chief would still be in the game, and I suspect most of that crowd isn't just mouthing words to keep Trumpy happy, they're true believers.
Could very well be that there WILL be changes made, but not a huge bunch and quite possibly not for the better.

Very true and you do have to be careful what you wish for. Could it possibly be much worse though? Probably the best we can hope for is the GOP getting soundly beaten Nov 3 and losing both houses and then the Democrats winning the next election I suppose. But who knows how much better that would be . Hell of a situation no matter how you look at it .

Crazy thing is the 30% that still blindly support him will believe it . If it ever happened and 5,000 went to every citizen it would actually amount to 1.75 Trillion. But he may just mean taxpayers. Who knows with this nut case. Of course Canadian political parties have done this for years just not with cash . Just with funding and projects etc in vote rich areas . Current US federal debt is at 40 Trillion with over 3 Billion a day in interest payments. I believe it's common practice with every politician in the world. Vote for me and I'll raise speed limits or whatever the hot topic of the day is. etc.
It's just not as blatant.

Come to think of it, this may be a blessing in disguise? We are trading in a free trade market of 330 million to world wide 1.5 billion market and counting. It is painful in the present, but the future is bright.
My persnal comparison would be similar to my ownership experience between a C4 ZR-1 and a C8 Stingray.
The ZR-1 was great in that era, but the C8 is better in every way. Lol...

Agree 100%. Diversification sets us up so we can not be slave to any one country. Same way we want to diversify our investments.

Paraphrasing what he said. We may not be as attractive or get the attention from investors at the present, but what we can do is build/prepare and make ourselves attractive for the future day. I can compare to some of the stocks that were in the basement for years not until recently when they finally got the attention of investors and the rest is history.
So I know what he is saying. I am no expert in investment but I know exactly where he is coming from.
Let us not pretend and we shouldn't compare our economy to the heavy weight US and China. Perhaps with good leaderships, we can one day be along side of the middle weight ie..Japan and Germany, etc..
I do believe that the views of many of the large investment houses and sovereign wealth funds have been shaped by the previous Liberal governments rabid opposition to development of just about any kind other than pie in the sky " net zero " fantasies. That and their overly onerous legislation introduced and passed by them such as tanker bans among others. Then of course the recognition and adoption of the 9,000 pound gorilla that is UNDRIP . BC adopted it at the provincial level. Ask them how that turned out.........
