Read that on IFLA earlier today. Nobody in Queensland wanted it. Good on them. Developer David Young is quoted as saying the Trump brand is toxic in Australia and he has better options... I'm sure that the petition that gathered over 135,000 signatures almost immediately helped him make his decision.Ha ! Good on them ....
Same thing happened to a Trump Tower in Punta Pacifica in Panama City , Panama a few years back. Lack of tenants. One month after new owners there was a waiting list, lol.
Queensland never even came close to getting a tower. The lot on the beach has been bare for 20 years.
The one in Panama is a pretty cool looking structure though. Shaped like a sail. Actually it was a Trump International Hotel with retail on the bottom few floors. I believe it became partly condos after it changed hands . Drove past it but didn't go in to look .
