2026 Model Year Increases in US
• Stingray prices go up by $1,700 on most trims. 1LT and 2LT Convertibles only go up by $705.
• E-Ray prices increased by $1,700 across the board.
• Z06 prices increased by $5,600 across the board.
• ZR1 prices increased by $7,100 across the board.

And here I thought the economy was floundering.

Chevrolet is missing the boat. The price increases that they are done every year since the introduction of the C8 has brought so many other cars into play.

When a Z06 costs over $200K I took my business elsewhere, I traded my C7 in for a gently used AMG SL 63. It will be the 1st time since 1997 that I will not have a Corvette in the garage.

What mid-engine sports cars have you owned?

Would this count ?

Did you have one BTW? I'd be jealous if you did. I was never in the position to get one, but I wanted one. Always liked the Fierro also.
Nope. But I always did like the Fierro though. Although I do have a soft spot for Pontiac .

Does an R8 count? owned several 911's and have had a C5, C6 and a C7... Didn't know what cars I've owned in my life had anything to do with Chevrolet's pricing of the C8... but it is a forum so the poster always gets questioned

My point is that at $230K Canadian for a decent equipped Z06 brings too many other alternatives into play.

You said C8. A C8 starts at $91K. An R8 starts at $60K more.
I had a 4th gen Camaro with more HP than a C5 Z06. However, it is not a mid engine sports car.
Bang for the buck the C8 is still better than any other MID engine sports car!

Is mid engine really that important? It just seems highly discussed in the C8 community/owners. People are often looking best dollar value in relation to performance. For 100k BMW M4 is faster than a C8, holds better value, and not a dime a dozen on the road. Yes it is slightly more but it has way more standard features that are not present on a base 1LT Stingray.

Yes.
Otherwise I'd have hung on to my $13,000 2000 Camaro SS. WIth heads and cam making 485 HP. Front engine sports cars are a dime a dozen.

That’s really apples to oranges as they are different classes of vehicle. Totally up to the individual. I know which I chose. Not having any use for a backseat…. ;)

Looks like a Mustang...

I wouldn’t talk. C8’s are literally the new Mustang on the road. See them everywhere they’re starting to be a joke. There are literally 400+ new Corvettes for sale in Canada and 800+ C8s. There are 500 new mustangs for sale in Canada. There was never a time were we would see the number of mustangs on lots that close to Stingrays. Mustangs were always half the price base from Corvettes even today (45k vs 90k). Now Compare that to an M4 and there are only 30 new for sale in Canada.

I’m not a typical corvette boomer or fanBoy nor can anyone say I am hater I literally owned one of if not the highest spec C8 Z06 in Canada at one point. Corvette owners just don’t think outside the box or look into other brands. The grass can be greener on the other side if they actually looked at alternatives especially when spending 130-140k on high spec stingrays and 220k+ on high spec Z06’s
