Maybe I should have been more specific rather than just saying trucks for the examples given. It is based on weight.
The Kg shown here is vehicles that weight over 8500 lbs, and I have never had the need to buy something that big.
It seems like dealerships don't charge the gas guzzler tax in Canada probably because of the amount of taxes they already charge.
