OK update on the belt tensioner and whirling noise The tension is leaking but the noise is from the water pump both are being replaced

It is a canister that has a hydraulic cylinder in it like a shock. It is not serviceable

Went for a nice ride yesterday beautiful weather for September . then I heard a whirling noise come from the engine area . I think it a it the belt tensioner its cover with oil from the tensioner . Have appointment on Thursday with Gm will keep you you to date . PS have extended warranty lets...
