Question windshield

My 88 C4 needs winshield replaced. Is it neccessary to replace the A Pillar gasket? mine is worn pretty well.

I had my windshield done a couple of years back. They had to remove the sides of the A pillar, but did not disturb the portion across the top. However if the seal is pooched anyway it would not be a bad idea. Problem is if the front seal is gone what about the B pillar? I did all of my weatherstrip last year. Its not that difficult, just time consuming and a bit pricy. Thats my 2 cents anyway.
