Happy Canada Day!
I have a 1978 Silver anniversary automatic 350.
I need universals for rear drive shafts (short and long shafts.)
I would appreciate any feedback on where I can locate parts.
I am located in Barrie Ontario Canada.

Hi jack hanna

Back in 1977 I had a 1971 Coupe that started squeaking. I was just north of North Bay. I crippled slowly into a Pontiac-Buick dealer and they repaired a couple of U-joints right on the spot. I asked how they could possibly have stocked Vette joints. The guy said the Us are were just standard issue GM parts.

So, not sure in 7 years if GM made the universals more beefy or not. If not Georgian Chev should be able to help. If not a sojourn to Wilson-Niblett will definitely solve the issue.

Just my $0.02

Best of luck

Hi Jack..
I believe the Corvette 'U'-joints are really just standard issue truck 'U'-joints that is why most places have them in-stock.
There are also two styles available.. You can get them with or w/o grease nipples.. Some like to be able to grease the joint regularly others say the grease nipple weakens the joint itself. There are aftermarket joints that are stronger.

(EDIT.. I just saw the other posting in General Corvette section...g)
