I fixed it! I hillbillyed it. I tried pulling it while pushing the D shaped button and it kept sliding back. So I got a piece of wire and pulled the copper middle out and wrapped it around the TV cable then wrapped electrical tape around the cable to hold it on. Now the vette gets firm shifts and actually down shifts properly. Just in time to haul me and the old lady to the "theory of the dead man" concert. They put on a great show and I got to drive the fixed vette. Free fix and a good day.

Nice! I wasn't so lucky with my truck. I adjusted the TV cable and well, the transmission worked awesome.....for a month and a half. Now is shifts HARD. By that I mean it won't shift out of first until 45 km/h. So, since I serviced the transmission in the Spring (After the truck sat for a year and a half), I'm betting some crap got lodged in the TV or some other area of the throttle valve body so I'll be taking it all out, cleaning it, and putting it back in the truck. And if that doesn't work, I'll swap the transmission.

Anyway, good to hear a success story! Glad you got it fixed! Woo!
