I’ve had a busy week taking care of a few maintenance items. First off I did an oil change on my 2011 GS. Not expecting anything out of the ordinary but…….. I drained out almost 11 liters of oil! My GS only takes 6 liters with a filter. Somebody screwed up big time! Also Jim Wilson Chevrolet charged me $18.33 for the PF48 grrrrrrrrrrrr.
Second job was I changed out the rear diff fluid. Went great, easy job, only took 2 litres. Again Jim Wilson charged me $35 per liter………. grrrrrrrrrrr
Finally I did a transmission service, changed the filter and oil. The hardest part of this job was the oil fill plug WOULD NOT come out. I struggled with it for probably 20 minutes then finally went and got a pair of pliers and it came out. Cleaned it up and it goes in and out real easy now. Put in 7 liters of oil and drained out maybe a little more than 1/2 a liter when I checked the fluid level. Again Jim Wilson charged me $144.35 for the plastic filter and $73 for the gasket. Outrageous pricing! I’m definitely going to find another source for parts. Now I went for a nice ride yesterday and the “service tires” message, then the message said the R.R tire was flat! Looks like I’ll be shopping for a TPMS Sensor!
Anyways I’m glad I got all those jobs done!!
