Hello, I'm replacing pedal pads on my 1985 C4. I used Dorman products. The clutch and brake pedal fit well with little issue. The gas pedal has a pin that is not moving. The pin is at the bottom of the pedal and also holds the spring. From watching videos of this job, the pin just pushes through from left to right. (brake pedal to gas pedal). As luck would have it, there is some kind of a fastener at this end preventing the pin from moving out. It's not a nut, just a flat cover which looks something like a washer. I can't remove this and the kicker is that the washer type piece is not listed on anyone's parts list. Thusly, there is no thread anywhere I've found explaining how to remove it.
One Gent states to use a small "C" clamp on the left and a small socket on the right.

Any suggestions? The spring wasn't too bad to get loose, but now the pin is the culprit. I feel like drilling the washer type fastener out and seeing if the pin could now slide from left to right.

Hello Shark... Might want to ask this in the DIY section. More members will see it. Here's the link.
