I ordered the Paragon F1 Brake Light module a couple weeks ago, and just got around to installing it today.

For all those who claim the effort of removing the rear bumper to install this isn’t worth it, you spend more time complaining and writing about it, than doing. It took me 30 minutes start to finish, with the right tools (90 degree battery ratchet driver very helpful).

I did not jack up the car, I did it as it sits. I’ll admit it might give a slight bit more room if lifted (still haven’t got my QuickJack yet) … but totally doable on the floor.

Brakelight Video

Small mod, but I love the overall result. Touch brake, flashes 3 times and then goes solid.

In stop and go traffic, it only does the flashing once, then solid. Every time the brakes are touched then within a 10 second timeframe, solid. After 10 seconds it will flash rapidly 3 times again, then solid ….

Cool mod …

Do you feel that it makes the vehicle safer ?

It's useless as tailgators can't react fast enough no matter how obvious your brakes are.
And you might trigger an epileptic seizure.
It's cool though. lol
But its Raccoon!™ approved, the rest doesnt matter ;)

Please, please consider that you are distracting other drivers by flashing lights.
Understood. I'll remove the brake light(s) this weekend, my turn signals on all 4 corners and my low/high beam flash

That should take care of it ;)

Tailgaters should have their vehicles and licenses taken away and be given a bus pass . Absolutely for me the most dangerous annoying driver behaviour there is . When I am driving my truck I like to check my mirrors to make sure that they are looking at me and not their phone or hair in the mirror and I brake test the A-holes. The look on some of their faces is priceless and 95% of the time they back off . Now in a large urban area there could be a chance of firearms involved road rage but the risk is worth it.

More like you are waking them up.

I have seen them on the road and I most certainly am not sleeping or distracted and it gets my attention. I have often thought about installing this on my car since I saw this on a Viper ACR Extreme a few years back.

Technically it is illegal in the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, not that the police are enforcing it like, stop sign/light runners/rollers are in the GTA.

Those provisions don't apply to a flashing brake light in the rear. OP is fine

Just guessing but most police departments wouldn’t know if that light behaviour was OEM or not. Besides the only red is a tiny bit on each end of the LED strip. Tempest in a teapot.

My brother-in-law (& family) is coming tomorrow to visit for a few days ….. 20+ year police officer in NS with a few year stint out west.

I’ll settle this over beer with him, and report back ;)

Appreciate everyone comments, as mad as some are 🤷‍♂️ it’s a simple brake light lol
