This Corvette Driver Is So Excited He Launches In Reverse!

One of life's "rather be forgotten" moments. Actually seen this happen at the drag strip, over stage starter allowed him to back up, left it in reverse. Scared the crap out of the guy behind him, this was a very fast drag race only competition roadster and it went quick... .in either direction.

I have seen this happen as well. It's not as uncommon as one would think. But scary and dangerous for sure. I'm surprised there aren't more bloody noses from the driver hitting his face on the steering wheel....gotta be a shock when you are braced for forward torque and that happens.... good post Keith..

He just learn that the "R" letter on the shifter isn't for "RAPID CAR"

"R" doesn't mean race either. I haven't been around a drag strip very often and saw it happen once too so it has to be a rather common mistake. I posted this just as a warning for newbies at the track.

Maybe daydreaming of being in a new C7 with a dash symbol "R" meaning "Race mode" ???
Oh well that darn "tortoise and the hare" story over and over and over again ...
