1991 corvette
Thanks for allowing me to join, these forms are very helpful to the DIY crowd. The reason I use Dad's vet is that this 1991 Corvette that I now have was given to me last year on Father's Day from my father who passed away two months after that it was the last car that he had bought. My father had owned a 1973 Corvette when I was growing up, and ended up selling it but was always a Corvette guy. At first I was thinking to sell the car ( my taste is for 1973 and older) but my son asked me if I really needed the money, the answer was no and he made me realize that the sentimental value was was Far higher than I first thought.
I am already thankful for this forum as I have only one key with a cip and was wondering how to get another one. I found the answer on this form ,thank you very much!
Thank you all for having this forum and contributing to it look forward to talking to you in the future.

Welcome to the forum Dad's vette. Great family story that you have shared with us. I hope you and your son enjoy your dad's vette. You can always drive around looking for a 73 or older, then ask yourself the question if you really need two of them. The answer is of course you do.

Enjoy the forum, lots of great people here. Many are from your area, I know they will chime in shortly.

Pictures would be great.

Welcome to the Forum! We're glad to have you here and glad one of the members was able to help you out!!!
Very nice story and it's so nice you're able to hold onto your dad's old car.
Of course, this wouldn't be a proper reply without saying "Pictures!". We love pictures on here.

Great story man, and welcome aboard!

Did you find an answer for your key question? I scrolled through but didn't see it addressed.

You can just take your VIN number into any GM dealer and they can cut you a new key and program the chip. Or at least, they used to be able to. LOL. New cars don't really use those any more, but any established dealer that's been around for a long time should be able to handle it.

Cheers!

Now show me some pictures!

Thanks for all the warm welcome guys. And thanks to a lot of the BC guys for reaching out to me, thank you very much appreciate it.
And I will load some pictures next couple of days
Regards all, David
