new rear sway bar bushings

hey guys

I am about to install the rear sway bar and the bushings but I don’t see a way to install the bushings onto the sway bar unless I cut a slice open in the bushing ?

I am quite sure mine had/have a cut in them so you can open them up over the bar??? I am not sure how you would get that on either...lots of force?

Thinking back to my parts-guy days, I don't ever recall an original GM bushing on any vehicle that did not have a split or cut for installation. That being said, I have seen some listings for aftermarket bushings that appear solid like yours so I guess they come in both flavors .

hey SLY...
Will these bushings slip over the end of the bar and slide into their respective positions?
It’s been many years since I did this on my ‘75.

Every one I have ever seen, including the Corvette have had a slice cut so they can be spread apart and slip over the sway bar. Once mounted you cannot see the cut. I use a o ring lube to avoid any squeeking later.

Agree with the above comments that a slice is needed but I think I would first call the manufacture for some guidance.

I am an idiot yes there was a cut on the side... omg I feel freggin stupid!!! lol
