2005 C6 1SB
After 45 years of GM musclecars we have finally moved on to a 13k mile, six speed 1SB 2005 Corvette. Gas mileage so far has been over 30 mpg (Imperial) on every fill up with a high of over 35. Sure beats the 10-14 mpg of the old cars. We've been there, done that with car shows. Our real enjoyment is in the driving with the odd cruise night thrown in. :canada:

Welcome to the forum!!!! I feel your pain about the fuel economy of the older cars as my city toy is a 66 Chevelle that gets 100 miles to the tank. I take it out when I want to make some noise and it also puts a smile on my face every time I fire it up. I bought my current Corvette because you just can't beat the blend of speed, comfort, fuel economy, reliability, and safety of the newer cars.

No Tears

Although I have little faith in the seat-of-the-pants dyno, I would say that the new to us car would run somewhere between the L78 Chevelle and the old COPO in the quarter mile. Then again, comparing two Chevelles is a little easier. With a completely different car, things feel completely differently. On a couple of mostly highway runs it has been in the 34-35 mpg range. The only way we would go back is if we could take the LS2, six speed and the air conditioning. Getting softer in our old age. ;)
