Has anyone received the most recent system update yet ? I got the notification for it yesterday but declined it because I think it is the update that can cause battery drain and I am a long distance from a dealer that can flash the ECM to correct the problem. After I declined the update the screen showed “ your android is now at version 10 “ and to have the update I declined installed I must visit a dealer which I will do when I get the chance.
“ The latest system update for the C8 Corvette involves a software update aimed at improving the over-the-air (OTA) update process. This update fixes issues where the battery may drain during OTA updates, which could cause the update to fail or lead to other problems on restart. This update requires a visit to the dealership where the Body Control Module (BCM) software is reprogrammed, and the process typically takes less than an hour “
So it seems that the OTA update that I declined is what results in a necessary visit to the dealer.
Does anyone clearly understand exactly what the deal is with this ? Thanks.

If your car works as intended, maybe don’t bother with the update?

I stopped OTA updates in my BMW X5 that previously caused trips to the dealership 50% of the time the new update was released and have not been back to the dealership since.
Ya . That’s my feeling as well. Haven’t had any issues at all so I declined the update. Hopefully everything will be okay until I go for the TX service. If it were critical I suspect the update would be mandatory and they wouldn’t have provided the deferral option. Fingers crossed for a while I guess.

I had it done yesterday along with the lighting recall while at the dealer. I also had 1 of my free oil change and canister replaced. If anyone is interested my start date was Aug /8 /23 and my mileage was 11,839 so close to the 12,000 km requirement.
I'll report if there is any change in the operation of the car or any new quirks.

BTW, one can also delay the update. That's what I did when one refused to install after several attempts and the car stayed in the on position. Then if you are ever near the dealership you can attempt to install it and if it fails and runs down your battery you are at the dealership. If it goes in OK then you simply drive away to wherever you were going etc..

Delay was one of the options . So I go for a drive and stop to see someone and when I restart the car there it is again saying there is an update available. It did that every time I restarted the car so I declined it altogether. I haven’t had a chance to look into it further but the battery drain issue I believe requires an update of the serial gateway module or some such. I’m going to have GM find out if the local GM dealer, who doesn’t sell Corvettes can perhaps do the update but I’m not holding my breath.

Good advice if only I had that luxury locally. Oh well, I’m not going to worry about it and hopefully there won’t be a “ critical “ update that’s necessary until I go for the TX service. The update notifications can be somewhat cryptic in that they don’t give much detail on the Infotainment screen. The car has had no problems as far as I can tell. Runs like a champ. Hope I didn’t jinx it saying that, lol .

You have to set the delay time. I think you can do it as far aways as a week or two.

Ya, some don't say anything at all. Some tell you exactly what it is. lol Dum GM!

Didn’t see an option to set a timer for it but I only had one coffee at that point…..
I haven't had an update in several years, but I think they call it a reminder. "Remind me in x days" or some such.
