A 1999 Corvette convertible on eBay with 55,000 miles. Sounds interesting.

Then again.........

Click on the "Vehicle History Report" tab and scroll down to "OdometerCheck".

Below is a sample from the title search...

10/17/2008 NORMAN, OK - 177,000 miles Motor Vehicle Dept. - TITLE (Title #:143107067035)
12/10/2012 SOUTHWEST REGION - 52,088 miles Auto Auction - REPORTED AT AUTO AUCTION

It's still being advertised as a 55,000 mile car. :nono:

It's happening every day. Keep your wits about you and ask lots of questions before buying.

One more thing. The seller isn't accepting any questions, even though his ad claims to encourage any question you want.

Would you buy this car knowing what you know now? :nono:

These guys are everywhere.

Many years ago, I traded in a car. About a month or so later I saw the car on the street. It had been painted and sold. The speedometer had been turned back 30K miles. The dealership isn't around any more and this is probably good. You really have to be careful. With our 2005 Corvette, I can have the IP cluster out and back in in less than half an hour, so it isn't much of a job to do. Changing out the main computer wouldn't be much of a job either. You have to know what you are looking for or have a person with you who does know when buying a car. There is generally a reason for low prices. You also have to watch for salvage titles and anything that has had flood damage. The computer systems don't survive very well.
