Wouldn't it be refreshing as a consumer if all the hype was removed from the introduction of the Corvette variants?
I know its never going to happen (marketing, research), but it sure would be nice.
Imagine if when the C9 comes out the full array of the Stingray, Z06, E-Ray, ZR1, and even the Zora, were available for you to choose from immediately.
Wow! - You could pick the car that meets your budget and driving preferences, without endlessly waiting for that magical 'reveal'.
As it stands, those that wish for a 'higher tier' car, and are willing and able to spend the most on them, have the least time to enjoy it before a complete make-over occurs.
Personally, while I have no regrets whatsoever in my decision to buy an E-Ray over a Z06, I may very well have opted for the ZR1, had it been available.
Now, while I would certainly like to own a ZR1 (just because - it's a boys and toys thing), I'm thinking in a few years it will look 'old' (but marvelous).
Or is that perhaps the whole point - keeping the consumer wanting the next 'best'?
This ranting has been brought on whilst sitting in my garage wondering which direction to go, however, I do have a question for those more 'seasoned' Corvette enthusiasts:
As the C9 is introduced, say in 4 or 5 years, and we all sit around waiting for the variants to appear, what happens with all the technological advancements made in the C8?
Do the FPC engines of the Z06 and the ZR1, or the Hybrid and 4 wheel drive technology of the E-Ray (and possibly the Zora), simply sit idle for another few years?
Just thinking (too much, perhaps).

Agree.... And Apple should get on board with that as well.
