Im in a pickle advise needed

Hello I own a 2002 C5 59K km. They are saying $2400 to take engine out. $400 to take it out and find the problem. Does anybody have guys around Toronto that they trust to do the same thing. Thx for any help.

Overheating issues would prescribe engine removal? I would have thought that there would be several other tests to perform prior to this, I can only assume you have already done them.
