Took this shortcut going from Golden to Grande prairie on Friday. The road is brutal, wasn't expecting it to be great but it is much worse this year. Tons of construction, gravel, mud, major craters and super narrow with no shoulders in construction areas. Definitely not recommend regardless of what you are driving.

Pretty tough weekend on your new ride Dan. At least you beat down the Stang...

Good info thanks.
Yes it was! Hopefully will get new wrap on the nose and carry on incident free. Yes first hammer down test was successful and the car ran like a champ the entire trip!

I’m kinda suspect of all the highways up north.
Return through Rocky mountain house was great, avoided the gong show on the trans canada too.

can't believe another bad Highway 40. I live along Hwy 40 , as long as I can remember it has always been rough, broken, holes, gravel patches, etc , tons of grain semi's everyday pounding it out, the gravel pit is just a couple miles north of me and the trucks keep hauling it to Saskatoon so a steady beating the road takes. Hwy 40 must be a jinx number. Windshields don't last long here as a rule.

I agree, in previous years i was in a Lincoln Navigator or F150 so it didn't seem as bad. Corvette is a little less forgiving and a little closer to my heart. Got caught in a wicked hail storm there last July too.
