I have glass T-tops on 1980 and wondering if anyone has had to repair the rod extension and bushing ? mine seems to have popped half way out at the bottom and will not move this is the rod which runs down from latch to pivot hole on rear of glass. Anyone with experience dealing with this issue and how to fix suggestions welcome.

Well I have played around with my glass tops and found the solution for repair to my own question. I thought I would post it so if anyone has the same issue they WILL NOW have the answer..
.
The glass tops have a long rod that runs from the latch that open and closes which in turn pushes a pin into the end or to the roof of car, that secures the roof top in place to the car.
The pin that goes into the car is removable by opening the latch fully at this point the pin comes out in full. If you turn that pin by hand orwith pliers it will unscrew. This pin sits in a bushing. The latch is removable by three screws and bolts. That latch has the rod extension attached once you undo the bolts you can pull out the rod, My unit was seized at the bottom pin and because I continued to try opening and closing the latch the rod bent. Parts are about $35 for all he pieces but not easy to find. I am going to find parts today I have located one thing I don't know yet is if there is a left and right rod or its universal seems even the suppliers with parts have not been able to answer that question let you know what I find out.
I am posting this as a new member to the forum and I have been a member at some other forums and I have found when members on some of the other forums find a fix they don't update everyone anyways we now have an answer at least I can now fix mine ! . .
