I watched a couple videos this morning on GM putting a stop order out to all their dealers not to sell any vehicle with the 6.2 L engine while they figure something out to fix what ever the problem is, they went on to say this issue with the 6.2 L will affect vehicles from 2020 to 2024. Does anyone have any information on this, will it eventually affect our vehicles? Does this have anything to do with the class action lawsuit on 6.2 L engine lifters?
All C8 Corvette Recalls
1. Seat Belt Retractor Recall (2020-2025 models)
• GM recalled about 13,859 C8 Corvettes from 2020 through 2025 due to malfunctioning seat belt retractors that may lock in the stowed position, preventing occupants from buckling up. This is a safety issue and repairs will be done free of charge once parts are available. The recall affects driver and/or passenger seat belts and includes a stop-sale on affected 2024-2025 models until fixed.
2. Transmission Fastener Recall (2023-2024 models)
• A service bulletin was issued for 2023-2024 C8 Corvettes due to improperly torqued transmission fasteners. This recall addresses potential transmission issues related to assembly.
3. Rear Axle Half-Shaft Recall (2021-2022 models)
• 22 C8 Corvettes from 2021 and 2022 were recalled because rear axle shafts might be missing ball bearings, risking axle failure and loss of drive power. GM will inspect and replace affected half shafts free of charge.
4. Lighting Control Software Recall (2020-2024 models in Canada)
• GM recalled C8 Corvettes sold in Canada for a lighting control software issue that can cause headlamps or daytime running lamps to fail to illuminate properly, reducing visibility and increasing crash risk. The fix involves updating the body control module software.
These are the main known recalls affecting the C8 Corvette as of now. Owners can check their vehicle’s recall status using the GM Owner Center or the NHTSA website.
