Gonna go with the PARACORD caused this one being located through the hood striker.......... My 2c
....and somewhere in Detroit, a GM attorney is madly scouring the interweb and taking screenshots of C8ās with paracord and walmart chain for GMās defense file....

So easy. Pulled my fuse #18. Took 30 seconds and I use the pull cord under the dash anytime I wanna access the frunk. So easy and old school. All mechanical no electrical BS. Until GM gets to acknowledge thereās an issue. 
My guess is the mechanical latch opening cable is designed for occasional use only. I can only imagine the sorrow that will be heard throughout the land when the first one snaps. Repairing that bad boy will be no fun.
I doubt my wife wants to crawl around to tug on that
However, I'm not. This is a daily driver for us. It is "our" fun car. The other is the beater. Sold/selling both our Camaro's to get this oneIām good! I donāt let my wife drive my toys
