Found a Crack

Found a large crack today when washing my C7 GS.
Has anyone seen/experienced cracking of the rocker panel, just in front of the lower rear intake? Is this a common issue or unique to my car? There is also chipping near the wheel well where it meets the quarter panel.
Is this possibly covered under warranty (GMPP)? or am I on my own?

I suspect you took a hit to the panel.

I spoke to Don Lee and looks like I'm on my own!!!

You will need to find a body specialist for fiberglass. If it is not a structural stress crack it should be repairable.

Owch. Feel for you buddy. I hope you have a decent body man local. On the bright side it’s maybe better than on the upper panel if that’s any consolation. At least there shouldn’t be any tariff implications. Good luck with it.

With damage to both those areas it almost looks like someone jacked the car up by lifting on the body panel rather that using a jacking puck on the frame. I'd have a close look at the bottom of the panel under the car. Good luck with the repair.

Have you had it serviced recently or borrowed it out? Aside from impact someone flexed the hell out of it to do that.

That is part of the mystery! I had this conversation with Don Lee, but I have owned the car for over a year and I have been the only one servicing the car. I am very careful when lifting it on my 2 post lift. There are no marks on the bottom of the rocker etc. I am however suspicious of previous ownership, since the DS rocker extension had been replaced with a cheap aftermarket one (car now has ACS rockers and front splitter). Maybe something happened and a stress crack was present but not visible on the outside of the panel. That is my best guess...but no matter, I am still left with repairing the damage....sometimes buying used SUCKS.

I've only driven it a couple of times this year and it was never left in any parking lots...just visiting friends. I don't actually put many miles on it.
