1998 C5 corvette.
Hi all. I purchased my first ever corvette last weekend. Flew to Toronto on Sunday morning. Arrived at 8am. Was on my way back to Nova Scotia by 10Am. Stayed just outside Quebec city Sunday nite. Back on the road by 6am arrived back home at 3. Long drive. So, on my way home I thought I was going to have my ear drums pop!! I was told it had a new exhaust system. Well... It did. But it was straight 3"pipe with high flow Cat conv. No muffler. So the drone was almost unbearable when it was in 6th gear. So today I had it into the shop on the lift. I was told by the previous owner that my suspension was adjustable It was.....but only by an inch. It had after market springs put in to lower it. And the wires on the o2 sensors were broke off because they were toooooo close to the ground. so I was also told that the spark on my plug wires were jumping and I needed a set of asbestos socks to go over my boots. I have long tube headers. That was my prob there. So now I will post on the classifieds that I'm looking for a set of stock springs, to try to raise it up where it should be. Sorry all for the long drawn out intro. But I had a few issues with the car that I wasn't prepared to deal with. But, I am getting it i guess. Nothing that a few thousand won't fix!!!! Its only money.....Right?? Hmmmm. Good thing they print it every day!!!! LOL

I've ridden in a couple of cars, one our old el Camino, with droning exhaust and it gets old pretty fast. I'll stick with my stock stuff. It makes plenty of noise under acceleration for me. When buying aftermarket stuff, find out what doesn't drone before you buy. Too many do.

Welcome to the forum Maritimer, great to have you here.

Perhaps contact DaSilva Motorsports (site sponsor) to see if by chance he may have the suspension parts you need, or can offer some suggestions on where you may find them

Best of luck with your car, that is quite a haul home. We recently did the same trip east and I think you did it a little quicker than we did.

Again, welcome.

Welcome to the forum! I think I replied about trading the stock springs and shocks straight up in another thread. :D
Anyway, sounds like a very nice car!!! If you're looking for parts, the best person to call is Manny at Dasilva Motorsport. He's our sponsor and a fantastic guy. He'll be able to help you out.

Welcome! I am green in ownership too ... I've done it for so many of my past "lesser-than-a-vette" vehicles ... and this forum will likely wean me in for it ... but it's surprisingly scary however inevitable to think that the future has a repair and/or maybe a mod to my first new-and-off-the-lot specimen that I just bought and put into hibernation. I did manage to survive from my one and only mod so far by adding a weather-tech mat to the cargo space (lol). I am however thankful to those on this forum and do appreciate reading the past and most recent stories of success for sure. I am gonna have to check out the DaSilva Motorsports referral and/or inquire in the future as I am a Calgary Driver.
