If you have the extra 50 k for an eight year old Ferrari 458, you probably have the coin for the 5 k per year in maintenance as well as the required 500 dollar Tods driving shoes.... So I say, go for it.... but don't shed tears when this happens.... Just kidding.... Buy what you like man...

Having spent a few months working in Bahrain, I'd say you should buy the Vette.
Too many Ferraris there already and the Vette will stand out as an intelligent decision made by an independent and discerning car enthusiast.
And the bonus is you'll have just as much fun or more driving it.

My Wife & I may have been a tiny bit ahead of your thinking here
and we do like your thought soooooo much that as we did just that
... although cutting out the "middle man" and going directly to the resultant ...
I would have made for a lousy used Ferrari Salesman anyway ...
